About Our Toddler Twos, Early Preschool Program
Our Toddler Twos, Early Preschool Program offers a nurturing environment where 2- and 3-year-olds can develop social skills, emotional growth, and a love for learning. We emphasize God’s love, friendship, sharing, and independence, helping toddlers to grow up helpful, loving, and kind. The program is designed to teach valuable social and emotional skills through play, setting a foundation for good habits and further learning.
Our toddlers learn about God's love, friendship, sharing, and independence. Through child-centered play and modeling by the teachers, our toddlers learn important skills such as verbal and non-verbal communication, creative representation, and emotional regulation. Numbers, colors, letters and shapes are introduced and explored through music and movement, games, art, and stories.
Our program utilizes the “High/Scope Curriculum which focuses on making connections between thoughts and actions. Our program is filled with active learning and discovery which promotes the development of thinking, reasoning, and problem solving.
We provide a warm, loving, and safe environment where the little ones feel comfortable to explore and create independently and at each one's own pace. Our teachers form close, personal relationships with children, interact with them in ways that show respect for children, and help toddlers learn to manage their own behavior. Our toddlers build confidence and independence during free choice play (known as “work time”) by working together with others and through consistent everyday routines. They build emotional intelligence by taking turns, sharing, cooperating with friends, and following directions.
We create joyful, appropriate, and meaningful learning experiences through intentional teaching practices, purposefully designed learning environments, and enriched activities. We help students thrive by engaging in investigations and explorations of new materials and objects. They choose toys and materials that can be used in different ways so toddlers develop creativity and problem-solving skills. Our teachers respect toddlers' choices to play alone or with other children, and also play alongside our toddlers, encouraging them to play for extended periods of time in order to build, refine, and expand their skills and knowledge.
Potty training is a key milestone, and we partner with parents to make it a smooth process. By waiting for signs that your child is ready we often complete it in just a few weeks time.
Learning to use the toilet is an important developmental milestone. Parents and teachers partner together during this process to make it as smooth and easy as possible. Plans about each child’s toilet training needs are to be developed by the parent and teacher together.

SIGNS THAT A CHILD IS READY TO USE THE TOILET
The right time for toilet learning will be different for every child and should not occur prior to 24 months of age. It is important to look for signs that the child is ready. The following signs indicate a child may be ready to use the toilet:
- Can cooperate with adults and follow instructions
- Can stay dry for at least two hours at a time during the day or is dry after naps
- Can understand words about the toileting process
- Has regular and predictable bowel movements
- Can express the need to eliminate – either verbally, through facial expressions, or by posture
- Can get to and from the bathroom area unassisted
- Can help pull diapers/pants up and down
- Does not need to be reminded to use the bathroom every 15 minutes
